"Eat the ripe ones, Man"!

There is this thirukkural in tamil that talks about the choice of speaking good words over bad ones.

"Iniya ulavaaga innaadha kooral
Kani iruppa kaai kavarndhatru"

It compares words to fruits and asks why eat unripe fruits when you have ripe ones? Get it?

That's the only meaning of this kural that i know as i was taught.

Comma
.

Now this morning i was talking to one of my friend and telling how things are shaping up better for me. How I am trying not to worry about the bad things around me that which i used to do 18/7. My friend put this question across to me,

"Athiq, does every other person in this world give you nothing but trouble?"

I muttered, "No, not everyone and not all the time"

Before i could finish, my friend said,

"Iniya ulavaaga innaadha kooral
Kani iruppa kaai kavarndhatru"

You have so many good people doing so many good things around you. Take them. Why do you eat unripe fruits? Not good for you!

While i took the kural in the literal perspective, my friend took in the contextual perspective.

A bunch o' fruits. Which one you eat matters!

Period.

Bunch O' Senses

This blog is a breath of fresh air.

God has made a beautiful world. Filled with so many nice things.

Whats more beautiful is in the eye of the on-looker.

Whats more loving is in the heart of the beloved one.

Is this life worth sitting and crying about unfulfilled expectations?

Well, now how good are we at meeting our own expectations?

What good are our eyes when it's stopped showing us beauty in this world?

What good is our smile when it aint genuine?

What good is our love when we dont show it to people who'd love it?

I asked myself these questions and now i am here looking to write something that is not just whining, say something that is not just disturbing, feel something that is not just heartache.

I start off with a warm smile :)

We have a Bunch O' Senses. How do we perceive them matters!

What do you have in store for your Child? Love or Money?

I have an aunt. She has only one child. My cousin was doing 11th standard at that time. As my uncle leaves early in the morning and comes back late at night, his world used to be his mother, my aunt. Then my aunt and uncle thought they needed to earn a lot lot more for his bright(??) future. My aunt left for a couple-of-grands-more paying job in some nobody-knows town in neighbor state. As she started earning more and more money for her child, she started losing her love for him. He earned bad company.

One day he came home at 12 am. He enacted a story. That was one of the best acting i have seen so far. Realizing nobody bought his story he gave up and accepted that he had cut his tuition class and went outside with his friends. The little time his Mum was with him, she spent that mostly in fighting with Uncle that its all his mistake and he has missed to take good care of the boy. Whoa! What a thought!!

I thought it was all over. Then came the big drama. Aunt came home one day in tears that the boy is missing for two days!! WTF??? I asked why they have not told us that earlier. Not even the police was informed. They said they thought he is gonna come back the next day! Cool, fucking cool! What a faith in their son!! Then some police in some village outside city found him wandering in the streets. Got where he is from and called my uncle. When he was back here, his face showed no signs of anything at all has happened. He was f'king cool. Now he is doing his 12th standard and i have no clue when he's gonna start his next tour. I and for that matter many have tried the best to educate them about the real problem at hand, but all in vain.

Its just about one boy i know. There are thousands and thousands out there, roaming homeless in the streets with a home. What did their parents earn for them? Money? Will that help him become a nice person? Like Gandhi said, "If wealth is lost, nothing is lost. If health is lost, something is lost. If character is lost everything is lost". When are they gonna understand this truth?

Guess i got the best song for this scenario we are discussing: Walking Disaster

Athiq! Find a girl of your choice but let her be Muslim!

Do I really have 'my' choice here? Isnt there a filter already set by you guys? Ladies and gentlemen, i have got a couple of questions for you:

"Can only a muslim girl be a friend to me?
Can ony a muslim girl make love to me?
Can only a muslim bring up children with good virtue?
Can only a muslim girl take care of me until i find my grave?

Dont girls in any other religion do the obove activities in their life? Why your eyes cant see them when it comes to finding your life partners? Are they all sinners? You are the sinners!! You discriminate human beings on the basis of the doctrines they follow! Your brains are so fucked up. Help yourself to get out of the shit you are in. Dont blind your eyes in the name of religious morality. Atleast, dont you try your trick on me. Thank you God for making me immune to their blackmagic spells :)

We locked ourselves in a cell and lost the key!

Why do people in every religion think, the ones in other religion are ignorant about God and the Right Path? Because, they were born into a cell called 'my religion' and they locked themselves in and lost the key! Most of them do this just because their folks did the same thing. Some others do this because they think they dont have a choice. A few are the enlightened. They go out of the cell. Amongst them some turn back and some dont even think about it. Where are you now?

Ever thought how it'd be to come out of the cell you are in? How it'd be to breathe the air of freedom? No, you are not ready for that. Not because someone locked you in. Because you dont know where the key is albeit you're the one who locked it in the first place!

Paint my Hair Black. Paint my Face White. Paint my _ss What?

"Athiq, you are having gray hairs!!" "Athiq, you have lost your color!!"

When did we start worrying about the gray color of the hair rather than the gray matter that lies beneath it? When did we start liking the color of one's face rather than the smile it carries? When did we all start giving a blind eye to things that actually matter?

When a baby is born people talk about the traits of the baby and from whom they are inherited. There is one thing they will never miss. Its the color of the baby's skin. Yeah, no problem. Color is a trait. Thats a very good identity too, yes. But there are always morons around who'd start saying things like "Oops the baby could have been little white. See its dark like its Dad and Mom". I'd feel like saying, "Well what do you expect Sonnavabitch? Now get the fuck outta here!!"

Try to see the whiteness of people's soul when you look at them. Appreciate that, instead! Ask God to open up your eyes for that. The color of hair too! If i have a gray hair at 25, what is that supposed to matter? I cant for the life of me figure it out. I make it brown, i get handsome? Shit, fucking shit! This rule of "Black for Hair. White for Face" is not gonna take us anywhere. Take whatever color God gives you. He wanted you to look like you. Dont wear a mask and show him a different face. Rather wear a smile and add more beauty to what he has already given you :)

The Concept of Hell questions the Love of God!

Hell is nothing new to us. Regardless of what religion we were born into, they've told us a lot about hell and its fires. You do a lot of good things in your life and sometimes you might have done a couple of bad things too. As per most religions out here, when you go to day of judgment, the good Lord is expected to say.

"Son you know what, you should not have done those filthy things they say you did. I am left with less options now. I hate to fry you in hell fire, but i dont wanna waste that resource either. So take it easy. Its only gonna be for a while. Then one fine day, pray it comes soon, i might send you to heaven. I am sure its got lot of unused space. So go and get busted for a while. Alrighty, whose next in line now?"

Well, it wasnt said with the sarcastic note i have added. But shit is shit, however you may give it. Why is God sometimes showcased as a tyrant? Why do we have to be in damnation even after we've realized doing a wrong thing is wrong? Why human beings with the much bragged about sixth sense, need something called as religion to accept the mere fact that pinching someone with a needle is gonna hurt?

I believe that God is a form of energy called 'love'! The most strongest form of energy. The most omnipotent form of energy. Inculcate love into the hearts of children, not fear. If at all there is something called as heaven, lets with our love for each other, make it envy us!
